Happening Since Ethen Has Come.
Wow, I can't believe that Ethen is going to be 7 weeks old on Friday! Time flies. So what has happened since then. I have had 2 breast infections...I think which is the worst thing to have. And since leaving Washington from Thanksgiving I have been sick ever since. My mom was sick and Ethen and I caught it. Ethen seems to be better. I on the other hand still have a cough which I am ready to be done with!
While we were in Washington for Thanksgiving we blessed Ethen. It is such a great blessing to have a husband who holds the priesthood and is able to bless our son. It was a great blessing which we have record and look forward to sharing with our son as he grows. The men who stood in the circle with my husband was my dad, my brother David, and my two brother-in-laws Kip and Dax. Thank you for being there and supporting us.
Also, Ethen has started to smile which we love to see! He has also started to coo which is adorable. We love Ethen and both Ben and I love to just watch him endlessly! Since I stay home with Ethen I get to do this all the time. However, with Ben still in school Ethen is a distraction. Ben is a very proud daddy and loves being a daddy to such a cute boy! For those of you who wonder who he looks like...he definitely takes after his daddy!
At Ethen's 6 week he was 24 inches long and 10 lbs. 13 1/2 ounces. His head measure big so we actually had an ultrasound on Monday to make sure there was not fluid on his brain. The results came back and he does not have any fluids on his brain!
Well, that is it for now. I will work on being better at posting more regularly.

Birth Story
So people have asked about my labor and delivery and I meant to post this sooner but it seems life is crazy and hectic. So here it is. So I was scheduled to be induced on the 22nd of Oct. However, as luck would have it I actually started having contractions starting at 2 AM on the 21st. The whole day the contractions came at about 8-10 minutes apart. Then about 5 PM they seemed to stop. So we eat dinner and walked to get a movie. We got home watched it. Right after out of no where it seemed my contractions came at 3-5 minutes apart. So at 1:15 we packed up and headed to the hospital. It seemed so surreal. I mean your pregnant for 9 months and you kind of dream about what it will be like but when it is really here it seems crazy.
Now some of you know that I was hoping to birth naturally with out an epidural. I actually read a hypnobirthing book and worked on techniques. With that said we got to the hospital and they checked me at I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. So I was admitted. With that Ben went to get a couple of things out of the car. During the time he ran out to the car I had a couple of contractions that were pretty intense and so once he got back and the nurse came back in I said bring in the epidural! For not sleeping for so long I needed to sleep so I could make it through the actually labor and delivery. So I got my epidural and I must say it was wonderful. I got to sleep...that is as much as you can with a nurse coming in every hour and take your blood pressure and check to see how your progressing.
So by 4 I was dilated to a 4. At 5 I was dilated to a 5 and at 6 I was dilated to a 7. Then at this point they gave me pitocin (or however you spell it. Anyway, with that I think it was about 11 AM that I was fully dilated. However, due to the fact that my doctor was in another delivery we did not start pushing until about 12. Once the dr. came and noticed he had pooped inside me so he brought in the respiratory specialist just in case after Ethen was born he would be there. So I ended up pushing for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The dr. broke my water, however it did not help much as he said there was not much fluid. The dr. did not think it would do much as I also had a bulging sac (but he broke it at the nurses request). The reason why it took so long was not only did I have an epidural but because of his position. He was actually against my hip and so his head had to be moved and then he had to get under my pelvis. It felt like forever, and I was exhausted! During this time the dr. said the baby was big so we decided to guess how big he was. And the respiratory specialist was right now at 8 lbs. 5 ounces. He was officially born born at 1:43 PM. He was 21 1/2 inches long. Right after he was born the specialist took him while they worked on me. After they were done with Ethen Ben held Ben until I felt like I had enough strength to hold him. I must say he was so cute and what a precious moment to hold your first son and child. Also, while Ben held him I enjoyed what a precious moment it was to watch him hold Ethen.

However, the only thing he couldn't watch was me getting the epidural. He actually held my leg, watched the delivery and cut the umbilical cord. I am very grateful for my wonderful husband and his love and support through this whole time.

So that night after my younger sister Jen and her husband Dax visted we set out to figure his name out. However, Ethen seemed to be his name. Hard to explain but that was it. So his full name is Ethen Scott Turner.
We stayed at the hospital until Sunday. Then we headed home.
Ben's mom was here first and she arrived shortly after we got home. I am so grateful that she came to stay with us as my mom could not come immediately. My mom did not come until Thursday. I am so grateful for both of them for all they did for us!

Updates
Well, I hope you enjoy the photos. I must say that it was kind of annoying that I could not up load a couple of pictures at a time. However, that might just be due to my lack of knowing what to do.
Anyway, as for where we are at right now. Ben started school just a couple of weeks ago and is loving all his classes. He has also been interview for jobs which has also kept him busy.
As for me I am getting more uncomfortable as this pregnancy progresses. I think however that Friday night was the worse...or should I say Saturday morning. I woke up at 3:30 am to a braxton hick contraction and then once it was done our little boy decided that he wanted to play and he did so for over an hour in which I could not fall back to sleep. Needless to say Saturday was a very long day because of this.
On Saturday my sisters threw me a baby shower! It was fun to see family and friends alike. I am very grateful for my family and all the time they took into putting such a wonderful baby shower on for me!
Also, about 2 weeks ago my sister Jen had her baby girl, Kyra! She is so adorable and we are excited to have her as a part of our family. Since Kyra has come Hayden her older brother has been a adjusting so this past week we went to the duck pond up on campus and I must say he loved it. Not only feeding the ducks but chasing after him! It was so cute. I wish I had taken my camera!
As well my best friend from high school Crystal had her baby boy Radley on Wednesday this week! I also threw her a baby shower last Saturday so just in time for her baby.
So that has been my life for the past few weeks. It does not seem like a lot but I feel like I am always on the run. Which I guess is a good thing because it is keeping me busy!

Its been a while
Well, here I am over a year later and finally breaking down to learn this blogging thing. Jen, Jamie, & Abbie can be the ones to thank for getting me back on track! =)
To get everyone quickly caught up. I finished my degree this June and I happy to say my degree it complete. Benjamin has been extremely busy with school and work.
In February we found out that we were expecting. Then found out in June that our little addition will be a boy! We are excited for him to come. However, we still have some things to get before he comes so hopefully he does not decide to come early.
As for this summer things have been crazy as usual. I was in UT finishing my night class, while Ben went to Montana to sell security systems for the first part of the summer.
July came and we were able to my family reunion with my siblings and then spent a week in Yosemite National Park with Ben's family. It was a lot of fun. I even did a huge hike at 6 months pregnant! I went with all the guys. Needless to say I set the pace for this hike.
After that we went back to Montana where we were until the end of July and then Ben's company moved the office we were with to Eureka, CA. I did not know that CA was so beautiful. Whenever I thought of CA it was hot and dry with beaches. While being in CA I got to go to the beach for the first time at the age of 26! Yep...that's right. I will post pictures later of all our fun adventures up to this point.
